LeBron James isn’t the only NBA player losing weight. New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony is also on a hardcore diet, a photo of him posted on Instagram showed him looking very lean. Anthony has lost the weight as he is preparing himself for the triangle offense. First-year head coach Derek Fisher will be implementing Phil Jackson’s successful triangle offense with the New York Knicks. Anthony wants to be as athletic as he was when he was a rookie. It’s good to see him get in shape because he’s very talented. He’s been somewhat chubby over the past few years, much of his game is based of his shooting touch. Melo has supposedly shed over 20 lbs this offseason, mainly off a no-carb diet. He’s a phenomenal scorer who can light it up from anywhere, so we expect Anthony to have a big year this season. Jackson’s offense is famous ...

Many people believe that the 2014-15 MVP award will come down to either LeBron James or Kevin Durant. But let’s not forget, when Rose was last healthy he also won the MVP award. In fact, he was the youngest player in NBA history to win an MVP award. So with Derrick Rose being back in full force, he is most definitely a dark horse candidate to win this year’s MVP award. He even received MVP chants at last week’s Team USA scrimmage. Rose is even expected to make the final roster for Team USA. After watching him in exhibition last week, many analysts believe he has finally returned to his MVP form. He’s beginning to look like the same guy who led the Chicago Bulls to the top of the Eastern Conference before going down with back-to-back season-ending injuries. The Bulls have always been one of the best defensive teams ...

With another stunning Twitter play by Philadelphia 76’ers rookie, Joel Embiid made a run at actress, model, reality TV show star Kim Kardashian. Embiid, who is relatively quiet when talking to the press was spitting game this week on Twitter asking Kardashian to send him some DM’s (direct messages) on twitter if she wanted to get together.   The rookie seems to be a Twitter rookie as well because Twitter just stopped talking about Kim Kardashian’s wedding with rap star Kanye West. Once the world saw Embiid’s attempts his inbox blew up and he found out that his advances likely would go wrong for him. He soon tweeted an apology to Kardashian for hitting on her and wished her well. Embiid has been active on Twitter since he was taken 3 overall in last months NBA draft. The Utah Jazz matched the offer sheet on restricted free agent Gordon Hayward this past weekend. In doing so they agree to a 4 year $63M. Hayward was the 9th overall draft pick by the Jazz in 2010. Since then he has proven himself as a well rounded all around player. Before the ’13-’14 season the Jazz let Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap sign deals else where making the team Hayward’s team. The Jazz bolster a roster full of young talent and talk around Salt Lake is that Hayward is the face of the franchise. While playing with Jefferson and Millsap, Hayward thrived as a wing scorer. Putting up stellar plays as the third option on the team. I can’t tell you how many plays I’ve seen where Hayward would block a shot, sprint to the other end of the floor, and catch the ball in the corner for a 3. ...

Since the San Antonio Spurs completed their desimation of the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals rumors and excitement toward this NBA offseason have been all over. It has turned out to be an exciting offseason full of trades and new signings. The league is being reshaped everyday. All the buzz has been about Lebron James returning to Cleveland and Melo staying in New York, but what about Trades? There have been some unbelievable trades, such as the trade involving Coach Jason Kidd. Below are the top 5 trades of this NBA offseason: 1. PG Isaiah Thomas to Pheonix Suns via sign and trade 4 year $27 million —-> F Alex Oriakhi to Sacramento Kings I can’t help but love this deal for the Suns and laugh at the Kings. The Kings keep making moves that leave me shaking my head. Isaiah Thomas is an undersized PG, just 5’9″, that was ...

The Thunder organization could have kept their 2011-12 team together and made one more run for a championship with the same core. But after failing to agree on a contract extension with James Harden, the Oklahoma City franchise decided to head in a different direction. They took their chances and traded their third best player (arguably second best player) along with Daequan Cook, Cole Aldrich and Lazar Hayward to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, two first round picks and a second round pick. We rarely saw Jeremy Lamb as an impact player, his main asset is his 6’11” wingspan. Lamb spent most of his rookie year playing in the D-League. Overall, the trade between OKC and Houston seemed successful for both franchises. In addition to acquiring a capable scorer like Kevin Martin and a rookie with potential, the Thunder also gained a few draft picks ...

LeBron James is finally ready to meet with Miami Heat president Pat Riley. James will have a face-to-face meeting with Riley this week. He has taken a methodical approach since opting out of his contract. James and his agent, Rich Paul put a plan in place, and it included LeBron taking some time off with family to watch how the free agent market unfolds. After meeting with the Heat, LeBron will go on to meet several other teams for face-to-face meetings this week as well. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets have emerged as front runners for the “LeBron James Sweepstakes” – it will be interesting to see where he lands. He could sign a short-term contract with the Miami Heat, or a long term contract elsewhere. In 2010, Riley convinced James to move to South Beach so that he could win multiple championships. He ...

When Lebron James opted out of his contract with The Miami Heat and was soon followed by Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh it was widely speculated that the Big 3 were working together to sign on for less in order to stay together. There were even pictures and talk of the the trio having a lunch meeting on South Beach hammering out the details of what each would do in order to stay intact and possibly bring in another player to help them win. This is the same formula and idea that exists in San Antonio and led them to have a championship caliber roster with their 4 stars taking less than the max. According to reports however the meeting between James, Wade, and Bosh didn’t go as originally expected. After the meeting Wade and Bosh left committed to staying together were as James was unsure about his future in ...

Big names like Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony are available and will be meeting with teams. The Lakers are in desperate need of some free agent help. I can’t name anyone on the roster other than Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash without having to look it up. What moves are the Lakers going to make, and what moves should they make? Current State of the Lakers Let’s start with what is happening. Nick Young opted out of his contract. It looks as though he wont be back. Pau Gasol is a free agent, and lets hope they don’t re-sign him. Kobe Bryant has a couple more years in him and he is making top dollar. Steve Nash is a waste ...
