Mack’s highlights throughout his college career include:

MAC Defensive Player of the Year – 2013
First-team All-American – 2013
First team All-MAC – 2011, 2012 & 2013
Third team All-MAC – 2010

Mack holds the all-time NCAA record for forced fumbles [16] and is also tied for career tackles for loss [75] in the NCAA. 2013 is considered to be his breakout year in college, he started all 13 games and recorded 100 tackles including 19 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, three interceptions, one which he returned for a touchdown, and forced five minutes. He also won the CFPA Linebacker Trophy for the 2013 season.

Since the Oakland Raiders selected him with the fifth overall pick, Mack is now the highest selected Buffalo Bulls player ever. The highest selected player before him was Gerry Philbin in 1964.
