The Los Angeles Lakers are open to the possibility of trading their first-round draft pick in exchange for a star player. The Lakers are hoping to strike a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, in exchange for power forward Kevin Love. Love has been in the NBA for six seasons and he’s never played in the postseason. Los Angeles is a potential destination for the big man. He played two years of basketball at UCLA and he’s originally from Santa Monica, so Love definitely has interest in playing for his hometown team, but the Wolves may find a better deal with another team. I’m sure you’ve heard it numerous times by now, but the Brooklyn Nets have signed NBA Veteran big man Jason Collins to a 10-day contract. The media is making this a really big deal because Collins is the first active player in the NBA to be openly gay. Here’s what Brooklyn’s floor general had to say about the team’s latest signing: “I think it’s definitely going to be a media circus just because of the situation,” Williams said. “It’d be a historic day and so we definitely have to deal with that. However, that is no longer the case for Deron Williams. Chris Paul is now known as the best point guard in the NBA. He’s continued to improve as a point guard, and he has become an elite superstar playing for the Los Angeles Clippers. Things are different for D-Will.
