All Star Indiana Pacers Guard Paul George suffered an injury that no athlete wishes on their most hated opponent. Tonight during the USA Men’s basketball scrimmage, George went up to block a James Harden layup with 33 seconds left in the fourth quarter, when he came down sideways and snapped his leg. He suffered a compound fracture of the Tibia and Fibula. His sugery will take two hours, and reports say it will take nine to twelve months to recover from this. Coach K stopped the scrimmage, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver in a statement said, “It was difficult to watch the injury that Paul George sustained tonight while representing his country. The thoughts and prayers of all of us at the NBA are with Paul and his family.” Larry Bird said,  “We are aware of the injury sustained by Paul George in Friday night’s Team USA game in Las Vegas,” ...

Paul George has mixed emotions about the trade for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen. The Pacers essentially let go of their former franchise player Danny Granger. Both Granger and George were very close to each other. Roy Hibbert, Lance Stephenson, and Danny Granger are currently the only players remaining from George’s rookie season. Granger made a big impact on George’s progression to superstardom. When George first joined the Indiana Pacers, Granger was without a doubt the team’s best player. Granger was coming off back-to-back seasons averaging at least 24.1 points. As wing players, George had the chance to work with Granger regularly in practice.
