Eagles Have The Edge The Eagles are heading to Dallas to take on the Cowboys and establish they are the best in the NFC EAST. Now we all know the Cowboys are having a great year, especially with Demarco Murray and Dez Bryant, but we also know that the Cowboys and Tony Romo are known for choking when it comes to big games! Both of these teams are (8-3), however the Cowboys are (3-3) at home which is a little discerning being the fact that if they want to make it to the playoffs they will have to play a lot better at home. Yes the Cowboys just came off a win against the Giants which could’ve went either way, however they allowed 417 yds and 28 pts to the 3-8 Giants! I can only imagine what this Chip Kelly style offense is going to do on Thanksgiving.   4th ...

The Trade deadline is fast approaching. Big trades during the season never really seem to pan out for at least one of the sides. It is hard to learn a playbook and get on the field right away. It takes time and a lot of work as a team. But there are teams that are in desperate need for some playmakers, and even looking to get rid of players. Here are five trades that teams should make happen before the deadline The Houston Texans’ Andre Johnson to the Oakland Raiders The Texans all time leading receiver and future Hall of Famer doesn’t want to be there. He isn’t very involved in the offense, and that may have to do with lackluster QB Ryan Fitzpatrick inability to make accurate throws. The Raiders are the only winless team in the NFL, but they have a future star in Dererk Carr. He gets ...

In the offseason Tom Brady was asked how long he planned on playing his response, “When I suck, I’ll retire. But I don’t plan on sucking for a long time.” went viral. Everybody was talking about it and thought it was funny. The New England Patriots are 2-2 right now, and Tom Brady, well, “sucks”. In Monday night’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Brady threw for 159 yards, 1 TD, and 2 interceptions and a lost fumble for a 59.9 QBR. For the season he has 791 yards, 4 TDs, and 2 interceptions with a 79.1 QBR. Most importantly, he is making un Tom Brady like throws. When asked in the pre season how long he planned to play and if he would play for another team he said: “There’s nowhere I’d rather play, I know that. love playing for this team and I love representing this team and hopefully I ...

There were three QBs selected in the first round of the NFL draft this year. Four drafted QBs have been competing for a starting job. As of now not one rookie QB will be starting week 1 of the 2014 NFL season. Not usually something we see in the NFL. It looks as though coaches right now are happy with having their future QBs sit behind someone with experience and learn the game. Throughout NFL history that tactic has worked well for some big name QBs. Aaron Rogers, one of the best QBs in the NFL right now sat a couple years behind Brett Favre before he got his shot. There is nothing wrong with it, though fans might be chanting the rookies’ names at the first sign of trouble. Cleveland Browns’ Brian Hoyer over Johnny Manziel This has been the most over analyzed, over talked about, most annoying Rookie ...

There are a few position battles fans are loving to watch this pre season. Some big name free agents, and big name rookies are all fighting for starting jobs. Some of them are finally playing out and it is easier to see who is in control of the starting spot. Brian Hoyer vs. Johnny Manziel Cleveland Browns Coach Mike Pettine announced today that Hoyer will start week 1 against the Pittsburg Steelers. Manziel proved to be too inaccurate and too immature to lead an NFL team. Neither of them has looked to good this pre season, but Hoyer has the experience and a few good games he put together last year before suffering a season ending injury. The question still remains whether or not he remains the starter all year long. Geno Smith vs. Michael Vick Smith has been starting for the New York  Jets this pre season and hasn’t ...

During minicamps and OTAs, players are always fighting for their positions during an intense competition for roster spots and playing time. Scuffles are common during training camp and other offseason work. NFL seventh-round pick rookie Michael Sam was involved in a minor fight during practice in St. Louis. Sam reportedly threw a forearm to the back of running back Isaiah Pead and it led to a small scuffle. These type of things happen, but it’s a bigger deal when it happens to one of the most scrutinized rookies in recent time. Michael Sam made history when he came out as the first openly gay player to be drafted in NFL history. The former Missouri defensive-end has a lot to prove in the NFL after many believe he fell in the seventh-round of the 2014 NFL draft. So of course, there is going to be constant media news around Sam. He’s ...

The New York Jets made quite a splash when they signed quarterback Michael Vick earlier this offseason. Vick was believed to have nabbed the starting job, at least, that’s why we thought he preferred the Jets over any other NFL team. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, the Jets are definitely planning for Geno Smith to be their starting quarterback and it would take a horrendous preseason for Smith to lose his starting role. Smith was among the most turnover-prone quarterbacks in the NFL last year. But that was his rookie year, and he really didn’t have any weapons to work with. With some experience under his belt and Eric Decker in the mix, he should have a much more productive season. For now, Smith seems to be in the clear. He’s still going to be playing under a lot of pressure and with Vick ready to go, ...

The Oakland Raiders have the fifth pick in the 2014 NFL draft and it’s beginning to look like they’ll have an opportunity to draft Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel. While Johnny Football remains to be one of the most interesting prospects in the draft, he may no longer be the top pick. Raiders beat writer Vic Tafur believes Oakland will pass on Manziel if he happens to be available. They believe Terrelle Pryor has a lot of Manziel’s qualities. Last year, Pryor would make the Raiders coaches pull their hair out when he would ignore them and improvise a game-planned play. While Johnny Football is one of the most interesting prospects, we all know the Raiders don’t view Pryor as a franchise player. The comparisons made between Pryor and Manziel won’t help his draft stock. Then again, it may save him from going to Oakland. Raiders seem to be ...

The Green Bay Packers are one of the few teams in the NFL that are fortunate enough to have a top quarterback like Aaron Rodgers. They don’t have to concern themselves with the top quarterback prospects as they already have one of the QBs in the game. Despite having their quarterback situation figured out, they’re still looking at drafting a QB at some point in the 2014 NFL draft. Even if they sign a veteran QB as a backup, the Packers are expected to take a developmental quarterback at some point. According to ESPN.com’s Green Bay Packers Blog: Given how much the backup quarterback position was an issue last season, it’s surprising that they are still sitting there with only Scott Tolzien behind Rodgers. But even if the Packers re-sign Flynn, there’s a good chance they’ll also draft a quarterback with a mid- to late-round pick. Mike McCarthy said he would like to have ...
